It was an inspiring experience evaluating projects in the Mathematics & Computer Science category, where students showcased their expertise in advanced statistics, analytics, and machine learning models.
I was truly amazed by the depth of innovation, problem-solving approaches, and technical expertise these young minds demonstrated. Their passion for STEM and their ability to apply data-driven solutions to real-world challenges was nothing short of remarkable!
Judging at the Texas Science & Engineering Fair (TXSEF) 2025

On March 28–29, 2025, I had the privilege of serving as a Judge for the Senior Division – Life Sciences category in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (CBIO) at the Texas Science & Engineering Fair, hosted at Texas A&M University. Surrounded by some of the brightest student minds in the state, the fair was a powerful reminder of the innovation and potential within the next generation of scientists and engineers.
From machine learning applications in genomics to environmental microbiome tracking, from AI-assisted disease prediction models to simulation tools for protein structure analysis—the projects I reviewed were nothing short of visionary. These students are not only exploring current scientific boundaries but are pushing them with curiosity, rigor, and purpose.
It was an inspiring and humbling experience to evaluate such technically sound and socially impactful research. Judging Innovation at UC Davis Hackathon: A Weekend of Big Ideas

Had the chance to spend last weekend (19th -20th April 2025) at UC Davis as a hackathon judge, and what an experience it was! From the moment I walked in, the creativity and passion were off the charts. Teams from across the country brought their A-game, each with unique ideas and a bold take on innovation. It was impossible not to feel inspired by the energy in the room.
One of the highlights? Connecting with fellow judges and hearing their insights on emerging tech and problem-solving. It’s incredible how much you gain just by exchanging perspectives with people who see the world differently.
The West Coast continues to live up to the hype—amazing weather, top-tier talent, and a culture that celebrates daring, outside-the-box thinking. I walked away recharged, inspired, and proud to be part of a community that’s shaping the future.
